Vans Drops New Doobie Skate Old Skool Net Inspired by Skating and Fishing

Vans is teaming up with French skater and fisherman Victor “Doobie” Pellegrin to release a special version of the classic Old Skool skate shoe. Called the Doobie Skate Old Skool Net, this sneaker mixes skate style with sea adventure.

This unique shoe comes with cool and practical features. It has a hidden mesh pocket inside the tongue to stash small items, a water-resistant suede upper, strong laces, and canvas side panels that can handle rough use. To make it even more special, artist Todd Francis created a custom footbed design for the shoe.

Vans also released a short video titled “Ye Tale of Doobie”, filmed in a foggy fishing town in Cornwall. It tells the story of Doobie casting his net and becoming the “World’s Finest Fisherman” after catching this magical shoe. The video also features appearances from his skate friends, making it feel like a fun skate crew adventure.

According to Vans, this isn’t just a sneaker — it’s a mythical version of the classic Old Skool, designed for those who love to skate, explore, and have fun.

The Doobie Skate Old Skool Net will be available on April 24 online and at select European skate shops. Price details haven’t been shared yet, but fans of Doobie and Vans should definitely keep an eye out.
