Unimatic, an Italian watch brand, has teamed up with Japan’s historic Kaikado and creative agency ERG Media to create a special watch — the Modello Due U2-KKD. This watch celebrates Kaikado’s 150th anniversary and is limited to just 150 pieces.
Kaikado is famous for its handcrafted tea caddies, made using the same detailed process since 1875. The new watch reflects that same care and tradition. Its most eye-catching feature is the shiny silver dial, made with Kaikado’s traditional methods passed down through six generations. The dial includes small, pressed-in logos of Kaikado and ERG Media, along with sleek black hands. Everything is covered with a strong, double-curved sapphire glass.
The watch has a 38mm brushed stainless steel case that is water-resistant up to 300 meters. Inside, it runs on a reliable Japanese NH35A automatic movement with a power reserve of 41 hours. It also has a worn gray leather strap that’s easy to change.
The back of each watch is engraved with the names of all three collaborators to mark the special partnership. The Modello Due U2-KKD is now available for pre-order on Unimatic’s official website for €750 EUR (about $850 USD). Shipping will begin on October 1, 2025.
