Story mfg. has teamed up with ASICS to give the GEL-VENTURE 6 sneaker a fresh new look. This is Story mfg.’s first sneaker collaboration, and it blends the brand’s love for nature, slow fashion, and hand-crafted design.
The shoes come in two soft gingham patterns — one in earthy reddish brown and the other in a light lilac and cream mix called “Vanilla Violet Quartz.” These gentle colors are inspired by natural tones and traditional fabrics, reflecting Story mfg.'s eco-friendly style.
A fun detail on the shoes is the woven lacing, which was inspired by co-founder Saeed’s childhood memory of skateboarders in Baghdad who used to tie their laces in creative ways. Each pair comes with two sets of laces so you can customize the look.
To celebrate the release, Story mfg. is hosting a special two-day event at The Truman Brewery in East London from April 18 to 19. Visitors will receive a vegan cookie, oat milk, a sewing needle, and a piece of Story mfg. fabric. You can even join in on a community art project by stitching your own design onto a big fabric dome called the Geodome.
The sneakers are priced at $133 USD and will be available through Story mfg. and HBX starting April 18.
