A stylish tribute to Japan’s most famous baseball team.
Nike is honoring one of Japan’s top baseball teams — the Yomiuri Giants — with a special version of the Air Max 90 called the “Tokyo.” The Giants are often compared to the New York Yankees because of their many championships and strong fan following.
This new sneaker highlights the team’s bold orange color with a bright orange Swoosh, standing out against a sleek black and grey upper. A shiny metal Air Max badge adds some flash, while baseball-style stitching on the heel quietly nods to the sport.
What makes this pair special is the branding — instead of the usual Nike logo, the tongue and heel show a custom “TYO” logo, which matches the lettering on the Giants’ away jerseys. The shoe also uses a mix of nubuck and leather, giving it a premium look and feel.
To finish things off, the waffle-pattern outsole provides grip, and the orange midsole detail labeled “Bright Ceramic” brings it all together.
The Yomiuri Giants x Nike Air Max 90 “Tokyo” is expected to release in Spring 2025 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The retail price is $130 USD. Keep an eye out for more updates and official photos as the release gets closer.
