Featuring embossed butterflies, a peace sign buckle, and a rugged sole.
Japanese brand NEEDLES and British footwear maker Clarks have teamed up to give the classic Wallabee a fresh update. This new version keeps the iconic look of the shoe while adding unique design elements that reflect NEEDLES' signature style.
The all-black suede upper gives the shoe a sleek and stylish feel, making it perfect for both casual and formal outfits. NEEDLES adds its signature embossed butterfly motif for a subtle but playful touch. One of the biggest changes is the addition of a suede monk strap, which features a distorted peace symbol buckle—a signature detail of the brand. The traditional flat rubber sole is swapped for a lugged sole, offering better grip and a rugged aesthetic.
Clarks has been experimenting with different Wallabee designs, including recent collaborations with Bodega, which introduced a patchwork version with leather, wool, and canvas. As fusion footwear—which blends technical and formal elements—grows in popularity, brands like Clarks continue to explore fresh takes on their timeless silhouettes.
The NEEDLES x Clarks Wallabee will be released on April 5 at select retailers.
