atmos and New Balance Unveil the 1000 “Bāṅdhnū”

A colorful, paisley-packed sneaker that may release first in Japan.

New Balance is back with another exciting collaboration — this time teaming up with Japanese retailer atmos for a special edition of the New Balance 1000, called the “Bāṅdhnū.” This pair combines classic style with bold design and is expected to drop on April 19, 2025 — likely first in Japan.

The “Bāṅdhnū” nickname comes from the bandana-style paisley patterns covering the upper part of the sneaker. These detailed prints give the shoe a retro-meets-futuristic look, while the inner lining also shares the same paisley design for a complete theme.

To add contrast, black suede overlays wrap around the shoe, giving it texture and balance. White embroidered details pop against the dark base, making the design even more eye-catching. There's also a subtle mix of pink snakeskin accents for a bold twist, which helps the shoe stand out even more.

This release is part of atmos’ 25th anniversary celebration, making it extra special. The New Balance 1000 “Bāṅdhnū” doesn’t have a confirmed global release yet, so fans outside Japan will want to keep an eye out for more news.

The sneaker is set to launch on April 19, 2025, at New Balance and atmos locations. Pricing and full release details are yet to be announced.
