A rare 1985 sample gets a modern-day revival.
Jordan Brand is bringing back a piece of history with the Air Jordan 1 Hi '85 “Irregular Shadow”, set to release in Summer 2025. This special sneaker, priced at $200 USD, will be available on Nike SNKRS and at select stores.
This design is inspired by a rare sample from 1985 that was never officially released — until now. The “Irregular Shadow” flips the classic black and grey colorway seen on the original “Shadow” pair. The twist? The design is asymmetrical, meaning the colors don’t match perfectly on both sides, which makes the sneaker stand out.
The shoe also features a vintage-looking muslin midsole, giving it a worn-in, aged vibe that sneakerheads love. Longtime Jordan collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara was the first to reveal the sneaker, adding even more hype to its release.
As Jordan Brand celebrates 40 years of the Air Jordan 1, the “Irregular Shadow” is a perfect tribute to the brand’s early roots and creative experiments. Keep an eye out for its release this summer — it’s a must-have for fans of retro heat.
