Wale Gives a First Look at the Nike GT Future

A new high-tech basketball sneaker joins Nike’s “Greater Than” lineup.

Nike Basketball stole the show at 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend, revealing some of the most exciting sneaker releases of the year. Along with early drops of fan-favorite models like the Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” and the exclusive “Black Label” collection, Nike also introduced its latest performance basketball shoe—the GT Future.

Nike’s Next Big Basketball Sneaker

The GT Future is the fourth model in Nike Basketball’s "Greater Than" series, which first launched in 2021. This sneaker is built for speed, agility, and control on the court, blending elements from classic Nike models like the Zoom Hyperflight and Air Foamposite One.

Rapper and sneaker enthusiast Wale was seen rocking the GT Future during All-Star Weekend, giving fans their first glimpse of its futuristic design. The shoe features:

  • A high-top sculpted upper that provides ankle support.
  • Ventilation at the medial side for breathability.
  • Multiple Swoosh placements on the tongue, heel, and forefoot.
  • Exciting colorways, including an orange and black version, a “Copper Egg” metallic edition, and an all-black pair.

Release Details

Nike Basketball has not yet announced an official release date for the GT Future, but it is expected to launch by the end of 2025. The sneaker will be available in multiple colorways through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with an estimated price of $190 USD.

Stay tuned for more updates on Nike’s next big basketball shoe!
