A New Challenger for the Race Track
Ferrari has introduced its latest Formula 1 car, the SF-25, during a special event at London’s O2 Arena. The car will compete in the 2025 F1 season, and the unveiling saw big names like Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Team Principal Fred Vasseur, and drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in attendance.
Before the season opener in Australia on March 16, the SF-25 will undergo its first competitive test in Bahrain. But first, it will hit the track at Fiorano, Ferrari’s private circuit, for a closed-door session.
What’s New with the SF-25?
The SF-25 is Ferrari’s 71st F1 car, and while its name keeps with tradition, its design brings new innovations. Under the guidance of technical director Loic Serra, Ferrari has made a significant change to the front suspension, moving from a pushrod to a pull-rod system. This change improves airflow management and offers more aerodynamic development opportunities.
The power unit remains the same due to stable regulations, but Ferrari has fine-tuned its performance strategy to get the most out of the car during race weekends.
A Fresh Look
The SF-25 sports a new livery with a deeper shade of Racing Red and a matte finish. A bold white stripe runs along the car, adding a modern touch, while thin glossy red and white details highlight Ferrari’s classic style. The design is influenced by the 499 Hypercar, which races in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
The wheel rims also match the car’s red color, and the race numbers for Leclerc and Hamilton are displayed in the official Ferrari font, Ferrari Sans.
What’s Next?
After testing at Fiorano, the SF-25 will head to Bahrain for pre-season testing from February 26 to 28. This will be the car’s first real challenge before the F1 season kicks off in Australia.
With its blend of innovation and heritage, the SF-25 aims to bring Ferrari closer to F1 glory in 2025. Fans and the racing world are eagerly waiting to see how the SF-25 performs on the global stage.
