A rare sneaker that most collectors won’t get their hands on.
Update: Friends & Family Exclusive
Skateboarding legend Eric Koston has confirmed via Instagram that the long-rumored Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Varsity Red" will be an exclusive release for friends and family. This means the sneaker won’t be available for public purchase, making it even more sought-after.
The design follows the same formula as last year’s Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Pine Green", but with red accents replacing the green. It features Nike SB branding on the heel, along with the same skate-friendly modifications, including extra padding and better grip.
Meanwhile, the "Navy" colorway of this collaboration was recently released to the public at NBA All-Star Weekend, giving sneaker fans at least one chance to grab a version of the iconic shoe.
Original Story: A Long-Awaited Release
Since the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 first launched in 2023, sneaker fans have been eagerly waiting for new colorways. The “Varsity Red” pair was rumored to release in Spring 2025, featuring a white leather and grey suede upper with red accents on the heel tabs, midsoles, and eyestays. The Nike SB branding on the heel would have replaced the standard Nike Air logo.
Nike SB has been expanding its crossover collaborations, not just with Jordan Brand, but also with Nike Sportswear—as seen in the recent leak of a Nike SB Air Force 1 Low.
While the "Varsity Red" AJ4 won’t be hitting stores, fans can still hope for more Nike SB x Air Jordan collaborations in the future. Stay tuned for more updates!
