BEAMS PLUS, the Japanese fashion brand, has teamed up with American footwear giant Sperry to create a special collection celebrating classic boating styles from the 1960s and 70s. This collaboration honors Sperry’s 90th anniversary, blending vintage vibes with modern touches.
At the heart of the collection is Sperry’s iconic Circular Vamp Oxford (CVO), a shoe first introduced in 1935. Known for its timeless design and non-slip sole, the CVO has been a favorite for generations. For this special edition, BEAMS PLUS has upgraded the shoe with durable nylon uppers, offering it in white, red, and navy color options. The shoe still features Sperry’s famous Razor-Cut Wave-Siping™ sole, which provides excellent grip — a design inspired by the texture of the founder’s dog’s paws.
“This collaboration with Sperry is a tribute to our long-standing partnership and a celebration of their 90th Anniversary,” said Hideki Mizobata, Director of BEAMS PLUS.
Alongside the shoes, the collection includes vintage-inspired clothing like jackets, trousers, knits, shorts, graphic t-shirts, and hats. The designs feature sailing patterns, classic sailor stripes, and vibrant colors like coral, aqua, and yellow to capture the spirit of an East Coast summer.
The Sperry x BEAMS PLUS Nylon CVO and the full collection will be available starting February 13, 2025, at BEAMS PLUS stores in Japan, select retailers worldwide, and online at Sperry and BEAMS websites. Fans in New York can also check out the limited-time BEAMS PLUS pop-up store at 199 Mulberry St from February 13-28.
