Nike is shining a light on an important piece of history with the release of the SB Dunk Low “BHM,” designed to honor Black History Month 2025. This unique sneaker pays tribute to the Black cowboys who played a significant role in shaping the American West.
The shoe’s design is rich in detail and meaning. The upper is crafted from soft suede in a striking “Tourmaline” green, while bright “Monarch” orange piping and a “Baroque Brown” heel panel add a bold, earthy feel. A vibrant red outsole and a sleek black Swoosh bring balance to the colorful design, and golden-yellow satin liners give the sneaker an elegant finish.
Nike incorporates cowboy-inspired touches throughout the shoe. Rope-like laces and lasso-shaped heel branding symbolize essential cowboy tools, while Western star embroidery on the heel echoes traditional cowboy boot designs. The insoles feature a silhouette of a cowboy riding through a sunset desert scene, capturing the rugged beauty of the West.
Adding to the theme, the sneakers come with a yellow handkerchief adorned with the phrase, “What’s gonna happen is gonna happen.” This phrase reflects the resilience and determination of cowboy culture, making the design even more meaningful.
The Nike SB Dunk Low “BHM” will be available in February 2025 for $135 USD through Nike and select retailers. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of history with this powerful tribute to the contributions of Black cowboys.
