Nike Air Force 1 Low “Howard University” Gets a Bold Design

Howard University students and alumni have something special to celebrate this year with the release of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Howard University.” Following the school’s groundbreaking 20-year partnership with Jordan Brand in 2022, Nike continues to shine a spotlight on HBCUs with this unique design under its Yardrunners series.

For those unfamiliar, Nike’s Yardrunners program was launched in 2020 to honor the history and culture of HBCUs with shoes designed by their alumni. While it’s not clear who created the “Howard University” Air Force 1, the design perfectly reflects the school’s spirit. Instead of sticking to Howard’s traditional red and blue colors, this pair pays tribute to the university’s bison mascot. Dark brown accents cover the Swoosh, lining, backtab, and outsole, while the rest of the shoe features a clean “Sail” leather upper. A special detail can be spotted on the lateral side of the toe overlay, where printed coordinates point directly to Howard’s campus in Washington D.C.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Howard University” is set to release on December 18th at retailers like DTLR. While no official release date has been announced for Nike SNKRS, fans can keep an eye out for updates. Check out the detailed images and stay ready to grab a pair when they drop.
