Kyrie Irving’s sneaker journey has been full of surprises, especially after his transition from Nike to ANTA. After the success of the ANTA KAI 1, Irving is now giving fans a sneak peek at the prototype of his next signature shoe, the ANTA KAI 2.
The early version of the KAI 2, seen in action during a game against the Thunder, shows a more streamlined design compared to its predecessor. While the KAI 1 featured a curvier shape, the KAI 2 adopts sharper, jagged lines and triangular insets on the midsole. These elements help extend the shoe’s traction onto the toe and midfoot.
The upper material also shifts from the mesh found in the first model to a mix of leather and synthetics. Floral patterns, along with an abstract embroidered ANTA logo, replace the previous glyph-like designs. The shoe is still a work in progress, but this prototype gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. Kyrie’s input on the design ensures the KAI 2 will be another step forward in his growing partnership with ANTA.
