o celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year in January 2025, IWC has introduced a special edition of its Portofino Automatic Moon Phase watch inspired by the Year of the Snake.
This elegant timepiece follows a burgundy and gold color theme, similar to last year’s Year of the Dragon edition. Unlike the previous model based on the Portugieser Chronograph, this watch is built on the Portofino design and features a stunning moon phase display.
The 37mm stainless steel case holds a rich burgundy dial adorned with gold details, including the hour markers, hands, logos, and even stars and a moon on the display. The snake zodiac is beautifully engraved on the oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The watch runs on IWC’s in-house 32800 caliber movement, offering a 5-day power reserve.
To match its luxurious look, the watch comes with two strap options: a classic black leather strap and a burgundy calfskin strap for a cohesive style. Limited to only 500 pieces, the Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Year of the Snake edition is priced at $9,700 USD and is available through IWC.
