Grand Seiko Unveils “Icefall” Dials Inspired by Mount Iwate’s Frozen Waterfall

Grand Seiko has introduced two stunning Hi-Beat 1998 Revival watches with dials inspired by the frozen waterfall of Mount Iwate, located near the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi Watch Studio. Aptly named “Icefall,” the dials reflect the beauty of winter in Japan.

Both timepieces are modern versions of Grand Seiko’s first mechanical watch from 1998 and are powered by the in-house 9S85 caliber, offering a 55-hour power reserve.

The SBGH347 features a 37mm case made from Ever-Brilliant Steel, a material known for its shine and durability. Paired with a matching steel bracelet, this model is priced at $6,900 USD and is available now.

The SBGH349, crafted from High-Intensity Titanium, is lighter than stainless steel and resistant to corrosion, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin. It has a 40mm case and comes with a titanium bracelet and three-fold clasp. This model will launch in January 2025 for $7,400 USD.

Both watches beautifully combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design, making them a perfect tribute to the serene elegance of winter.
