A Ma Maniere Adds a Swoosh to the Converse Chuck 70 “While You Were Sleeping”

James Whitner and A Ma Maniere are turning heads again with a special take on the Converse Chuck 70. As part of the “While You Were Sleeping” collection, they’ve created a unique version of the classic Chuck 70 that features a Nike Swoosh—a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Nike and Converse.

The standout feature of this shoe is the embroidered Swoosh on the side, which has a textured, split design down the middle. Staying true to the collection’s neutral tones, the shoe comes in cream with burgundy accents, including piping around the midsole. Adding to the surprise, the shoes are packaged in an Air Jordan 1 box that matches the same cream and burgundy color scheme, blending elements from both brands.

This Chuck 70 is the seventh and final piece of the “While You Were Sleeping” collection, teased by Whitner during the collection’s rollout. It’s a significant milestone, marking the first time the iconic Chuck 70 officially carries a Swoosh since Converse became part of Nike. Previously, custom designs like Chinatown Market’s version in 2018 and Virgil Abloh’s unreleased attempt in “The Ten” collection explored similar concepts but didn’t reach this level of collaboration.

For now, this special edition Chuck 70 is reserved for friends and family, with only 50 pairs in the UK and 100 in the US.
